We are recruiting on behalf of a leading provider of online education solutions that bridges critical learning gaps for students across the UK. As Head of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the organisation's reach, particularly within local authorities and multi-academy trusts (MATs), driving revenue growth and securing strategic partnerships.
The Role
As the Head of Business Development, you will:
Develop and execute a high-impact sales strategy to secure new business across schools, MATs, and local authorities.
Lead and drive the full sales cycle - from identifying opportunities to closing high-value contracts.
Leverage data & insights to identify trends, enhance sales performance, and ensure strategic decision-making.
Foster strong relationships with key external stakeholders to accelerate revenue growth.
Collaborate with marketing & partnerships teams to refine sales processes, enhance onboarding, and create sales collateral.
Lead the business development team, aligning efforts with commercial goals and contributing to a culture of excellence.
Identify and secure high-value tender opportunities, working with internal teams to create winning proposals.
Requirements
You will bring:
Proven experience in high-value sales within the EdTech or education sector.
Expertise in new business generation, ideally within local authorities, MATs, or public sector procurement.
A strong track record of building and managing sales pipelines and securing large contracts.
Outstanding communication & presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
A data-driven approach, with CRM expertise and strong numerical skills.
A strategic mindset, balancing long-term growth with short-term wins.
Previous leadership experience, managing and developing high-performing teams.
