Ready for a fresh challenge where your mechanical skills actually make a difference?
We’re working with a long-established, family-run manufacturer based in Hull, looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to keep production running smoothly. This isn’t just another maintenance job—it’s a chance to join a business that values its team, supports sustainability, and exports to over 50 countries worldwide.
This role suits someone hands-on, self-sufficient, and mechanically sharp—someone who thrives when given the responsibility to own the maintenance function.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Reactive & Planned Maintenance: Keeping metalworking machinery, presses, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems running at their best.
* Hands-On Fixes: Troubleshooting faults across mechanical systems (and a bit of electrical – think sensors, switches, control panels).
* Site Machinery Oversight: Spotting issues before they become problems, staying ahead of the curve.
* General Maintenance: From swapping out fuses to helping keep the site running smoothly.
* Collaboration: Working alongside the Operations Manager and sharing best practice with the Engineering Director.
What We’re Looking For:
* Time-served Mechanical Engineer or NVQ Level 2 (or above) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
* Solid experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, tooling, and mechanical fault-finding.
* Comfortable working solo—you’ll be the go-to engineer on-site.
* Bonus if you’ve got an FLT Counterbalance licence (not essential).
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment is a big plus.
What’s in It for You?
* £21.09 per hour + overtime paid at time and a half
* Stable, Monday to Friday days-only shift—no nights, no call-outs
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays
* Pension auto-enrolment
* Join a well-established, people-first business that genuinely invests in its team
