Contract Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

This role will suit a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering professional, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you are required to co-ordinate people and workload capacity.
As Supervisor you will be expected to have a strong knowledge of six sigma quality standards and will be expected to demonstrate:
1. Leadership of a team on the Line (Engineers, Technicians, Degree Apprentices) to meet manufacturing standards
2. The offering of ideas and then driving through process improvements
3. Effective implementation of innovative manufacturing solutions that align with the core manufacturing strategy for a world-renowned construction equipment manufacturer
4. A strong understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite
Key duties for this site-based Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor position will likely include:
1. To train and develop teams capable of completing business objectives and perform and support the plant operating functions
2. The attendance at various shop floor performance reviews, to build loss/defect intelligence and set priorities for the team.
3. Understanding operational pain points and planning resolves
4. To provide specialised engineering technical support to various areas of the organisation
5. Delivering continuous improvement for People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost metrics
6. Adapting team deliverables based on current business landscape
7. To co-ordinate Torque tool implementation, tool design, assembly, manufacturing processing, cost estimating, systems planning, layout, standards, releasing, etc.
8. Delivering capital projects for process enhancement and to improve customer satisfaction, conducting research and ensuring proper approvals
9. The co-ordination of the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts
Likely qualifications or skills for this role may include:
1. Manufacturing Engineering / Engineering Management Degree or equivalent experience
2. Strong leadership and communication skills
3. Proficiency in Lean leadership and 6 Sigma methodologies
4. Prince2 certified
