Providing specialist practitioner function in the delivery of specialist care to children, young people (CYP) and their carers who have a confirmed diagnosis of Epilepsy under the General Paediatrics framework.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide delivery of evidence based, safe, high quality nursing care to children & young people with epilepsy, along with their families.
2. Support the collection of data and experiences to help measure and improve the quality of care for CYP with seizures and Epilepsy.
3. Provide education and information to the CYP, their family and/or carers around epilepsy related issues and epilepsy management, e.g. management of condition, lifestyle and recreation, safety, school etc.
4. Provide clinical advice and support to healthcare professionals within and across organisational boundaries.

* RSCN/RN Child Branch, Current NMC registration, Degree in nursing

* Certificate in management/approve management training/equivalent management experience
* Post basic qualification in child protection
* Teaching qualification
KNOWLEDGE & NATURE OF EXPERIENCE
Essential
* Extensive knowledge at Band 6 or above in the speciality or proven interest in nursing CYP with Epilepsy conditions and complex care needs
* Commitment to practicing monitoring and teaching a high standard of clinical care
* Evidence of clinical leadership through expert knowledge and skill
* Evidence of on-going and current professional development
