Full Job Description
Senior of Principal Planning Consultant required to join a highlyregarded independent consultancy with a reputation for delivering highquality planning solutions. In this role, you will lead the deliveryof planning consents for a host of development proposals spanningwind, solar, battery storage, grid infrastructure, water, andproperty.
This is a key appointment for our clientand offers the opportunity for an ambitious candidate to rapidlyprogress to Director level while playing an integral role in thecontinued growth and development of the business.
Role
* Work closely with the PlanningDirector and support the delivery of planning consents for projects inthe energy, infrastructure, and property sectors.
* Coordinateand manage multidisciplinary teams working on planning and/or EIAprojects, discussing and resolving complex assessment issues andeffectively managing project programmes.
* Support the deliveryof feasibility studies, environmental reviews, and documentation forcolleagues across the business.
* Provide competent andreliable advice on planning matters, ensuring work is undertakendiligently and meets any statutory requirements.
* Raise theprofile of the business through attendance at events, websitedevelopment, marketing and social media.
* Undertake businessdevelopment through the preparation of tenders, consolidatingrelationships with existing clients and proactively seeking out newbusiness opportunities with prospective clients in Scotland and theNorth of England.
Requirements
* Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Town Planning,Geography)
* Membership of RTPI is desirable but not essential.
* Excellent knowledge of planning process including the currentmethods, legislation, techniques and guidance.
* Proven projectmanagement skills, including a detailed understanding of financialmanagement, programme management and quality control.
* Demonstrable experience in the energy or renewables sectorsis desirable but not essential.
* Good organisational skillswith the ability to manage tasks and time, using initiative.
* Excellent business development skills and ability to buildeffective relationships with colleagues and clients.
