Deaf Instructor
BSCS currently have a vacancy for a part time Deaf Instructor to extend our provision for BSL users on a 1 year fixed term contract.
This is a part time 1 year fixed term contract working 7.4 hours per week for 39 weeks of the year (Term time only). T he salary shown is the full time equivalent and will be pro-rata.

About the role
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated professional committed to working with the Teacher of the Deaf Team to provide specialist BSL support for children and young people who require sign language provision and to help children and young people who are deaf learn about positively living with deafness.

About you
As a Deaf Instructor you will:
2. Hold a minimum of a Level 3 BSL qualification
3. Have experience of working with children and young people who are deaf
4. Work with deaf children and young people (CYP) who require BSL provision to develop their communication skills
5. Develop the knowledge and skills of families of deaf CYP and require sign language as the primary mode of communication through working with them in their home environment
6. Work with families and educational settings to provide training, advice and resources about deaf awareness and the use of sign language where appropriate
