Learning Support Teacher - KS3/KS4 Location: Surrey Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Permanent - Full time or part time (4 days can be considered) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and aligned with MPS An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and forward-thinking Learning Support Teacher to join a high-achieving secondary school in Surrey. This well-resourced and supportive school is looking for a skilled professional to provide targeted support to pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) and other SEN across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school boasts a strong inclusion ethos and is committed to helping every child achieve their potential. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and wider Progress Department to provide high-quality, tailored learning support to students, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialist literacy and/or numeracy interventions to students with SpLD or other SEN Create and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with measurable, curriculum-linked targets Plan and deliver engaging lessons using varied teaching strategies to support progress Conduct regular assessments in reading, spelling, or maths and track student progress Maintain clear and accurate records of lessons, targets, and assessments Liaise effectively with class teachers and parents to support student development Contribute actively to department meetings and stay up to date with best practice in SEN Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Level 5 or Level 7 qualification in SpLD (e.g. Dyslexia) OR proven experience supporting smaller groups of pupils in Maths and English in previous roles A collaborative and proactive attitude, with the ability to liaise across departments Excellent organisational skills, with a commitment to maintaining accurate records and planning Experience working in a secondary setting with diverse learning needs Why Apply?
