Job Description:
Protocol Education are seeking a 1:1 SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a Primary School in Stanford Le Hope for September. Experience with Autism and non-verbal children is beneficial.
Location: East of England, Essex, Stanford Le Hope SS17
Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time hours
Job Duties:
* Provide 1:1 support to a primary school student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who is non-verbal and can display challenging behaviour.
* Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
* Support the student in accessing the curriculum and classroom activities.
* Help the student develop social and communication skills.
* Monitor and record the student's progress and behaviour.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the student's needs are met.
* Assist with some personal care.
Required Qualifications:
* Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
* Experience in a primary school setting.
* Understanding of non-verbal communication strategies.
* Ability to provide individualised support and adapt to the student's needs.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Knowledge of strategies to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Patience, empathy, and understanding.
* Collaborative work with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
