Are you an enthusiastic and adaptable individual looking to make a positive impact in schools across Portsmouth? We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Supply Teaching Assistant to join our team!
As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will be required to work in various schools within the Portsmouth area, supporting teachers and students across different subjects and year groups. Your role will vary depending on the needs of the school, from providing general classroom support to assisting with children with special educational needs (SEN) and supporting small group interventions. This is a flexible and rewarding position, offering the chance to work in a variety of educational settings and gain valuable experience in the education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support classroom teachers in delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment.
* Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with diverse learning needs.
* Assist students with tasks such as reading, writing, and numeracy, adapting materials where needed.
* Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
* Support students in following classroom routines, managing behaviour, and developing social skills.
* Liaise with teachers to provide feedback on student progress and help assess learning.
* Ensure the safety and welfare of students, following school policies and procedures at all times.
* Be adaptable to different age groups and subjects, working in both primary and secondary settings.
About You:
* Experience: Experience working with children in an educational or similar setting.
* Skills: Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with students and staff.
* Adaptability: You should be able to adapt quickly to different environments and be flexible with changing plans.
* Reliability: As a supply teaching assistant, you will need to be dependable and punctual, ensuring you can step into classrooms confidently and with minimal supervision.
* Passion for Education: A genuine passion for helping students achieve their best and a desire to contribute positively to their learning and development.
