To be responsible for assessing the mental health needs of individuals referred to the team and to lead in the development and implementation of therapeutic interventions to address that identified need. In the absence of the Team Manager, the post holder will report to the Clinical Lead/Community Operational Manager. There is an expectation that the post holder will work with wider community services including primary care and the voluntary sector. To be part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides evidence-based interventions to meet the mental health needs of adults and their families. To work towards own professional development. The post holder will have responsibility for a caseload and will be proactive in the assessment of client need and implementation of packages of care.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
* NMC - RMN Registration
* Higher qualification at least to degree level in a relevant subject
* Postgraduate training relevant to Mental Health
Skills/Abilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with staff at all levels, patients, carers, and external agencies.
* Specialist skills in assessing and formulating individual intervention plans for adults with mental health difficulties.
* Ability to use own initiative and work without supervision.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Effective IT skills and administrative skills to support accurate record keeping.
* Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines.
* Excellent risk assessment and management skills.
* Ability to deal with challenging situations.
Knowledge/Experience
* Post-registration experience of working in multidisciplinary community mental health services.
* Knowledge of government directives and current policies.
* Working knowledge of relevant legislation including MHA 1983.
* Knowledge of the safe storage, administration, and monitoring the effectiveness of psychotropic medications.
* Experience of organising own workload and managing competing demands.
* Working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines including adult and children safeguarding legislation.
* Understanding of psychosocial interventions.
* Experience of using a range of therapeutic interventions in a mental health context e.g. CBT, SFT.
* Organisational and time management skills.
