Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative, flexible, and well-motivated Therapy Support Worker to join the East Integrated Rehabilitation Team based primarily within the inpatient therapy team at Liskeard Hospital. The post holder will treat patients with varied pathologies and presentations, including a wide variety of conditions e.g. neurological, orthopaedic, respiratory, frailty, and falls.
Main duties of the job
* To contribute to the assessment and treatment of patients seen by the East Integrated Rehabilitation Team.
* To practice as a lone worker.
* To carry out skilled interventions as delegated by senior Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
* To monitor the patient’s response to therapy intervention and report back on the outcome.
* To encourage patients and carers in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence.

Person specification
Education and Qualifications
* Good general education (to GCSE or equivalent).
* NVQ level III qualification in therapy/care or equivalent relevant qualification.
* BTEC National Diploma in relevant area or equivalent relevant qualification.
* IELTS (unless qualification taken in English).
Experience
* Experience of working with older adults and disabled people.
* Working with people to facilitate learning of skills or gaining of independence.
* Previous work in the community or hospital setting.
* Desirable: Experience of working as a lone worker.
