Our client, a reputable and welcoming law firm in Godalming, is looking for a skilled Legal Secretary with a strong background in Conveyancing. This role is focused on providing support within the residential conveyancing department to an Associate. The position requires a local candidate with relevant experience and involves working full-time, five days a week, in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the Fee Earner with the day to day running of conveyancing files
2. Ordering searches and Land Registry documents
3. Opening and closing files
4. Liaising with clients and Estate Agents
5. Preparing completion statements
6. Prepare and submit SDLT forms to HM Revenue & Customs
7. Dealing with the Post completion formalities
8. Arrange meetings and appointments
9. Prepare meeting rooms
Experience and Skills Requirements
1. Proficient audio typist
2. Make telephone calls and deal with enquiries
3. Adaptable and willing to learn
4. Attention to detail and thorough
5. Presentable and act in a professional manner
6. Be proactive and friendly
7. To assist others with duties when required
