A moulding, mechanical manufacturing company in Oxford is looking for a Quality Inspector to inspect incoming goods and quality components and also moulded incoming parts plus completed end of line inspections as required.
General Description:
Ensure incoming materials meet the required specifications and standards through examination and precise measurement tools.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, noting deviations or defects found to ensure traceability and quality control.
Main Duties:
1. Conduct the goods inwards inspections for incoming materials as per the defined daily list.
2. Utilize various measurement tools such as callipers, micrometres, and electronic inspection equipment to measure product dimensions.
3. Monitor and maintain the quality inspection dashboard and the moulding inspection log.
4. Communicate identified defects promptly to internal and external stakeholders and collaborate on corrective actions for timely resolution.
5. Develop effective processes to optimise the inspection process and enhance product quality assurance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a quality inspector in the manufacturing sector.
Certification in quality control is preferred.
Strong dimensional analysis skills with the ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems.
Excellent mathematical skills and technical skills.
Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
Skills:
Good problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and propose effective solutions when defects or quality issues are identified.
Good technical skills with a strong knowledge of inspection equipment/gauges.
Strong communication skills to ensure clear and effective communication whilst documenting findings and reporting issues.
Strong organizational skills to ensure good management of multiple inspections and the maintenance of detailed records, accompanied by great prioritization skills to keep track of various quality control activities.
Hours are Monday - Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm with some flexibility, competitive salary of c£30k, Bupa Healthcare, contribution pension and free parking on site.
This is not a hybrid role and is based in Oxfordshire; due to the location, you need to drive.
