About the Role
The Governors of Hope School wish to appoint committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join our successful and friendly team. The successful person will work with KS1 and KS2 pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. The role of a learning support assistant at Hope School is vital for our attachment and trauma ethos, as relationships are key. This is a term time post of 39 weeks per year, with an annualised contract of 40 hours per week for a full time equivalent. The school day at Hope School is 8.30am till 2.00pm and these will be the core hours of these roles. Hope school is committed to being a family friendly place of employment and due to this there is a degree of flexibility in the working hours.
Personal Qualities
Applicants must possess a genuine enthusiasm for working with pupils who can display challenging behaviour as a barrier to communication. Experience of working with SEN pupils is desirable. Applicants must be prepared to undergo appropriate training, including training in attachment and trauma practices and positive holding techniques, as deemed necessary by the SLT. Personal qualities should include: Well motivated, enthusiastic and flexible. High expectations personally and for the children. Good organisation skills. Good teamwork and interpersonal skills, integrity, loyalty, sensitivity and patience.
