Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant
Job Type: Customer Service
Location: Partnership Level 10
Closing Date: 13/01/2025
Vacancy Type: Permanent
Salary Frequency: Hourly
Hours of Work: 15.5 hours per week working Saturdays from 06:15-14:30 and Sundays from 13:45-22:00.
This is a really important front line role. You represent us with every single customer you meet and their impression of Waitrose & Partners is down to you. As well as having a flexible approach and the ability to use your initiative to deal with unexpected situations, you should be passionate about providing the very highest levels of customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Due to the delivery/handling/selling of age restricted items, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply. You’ll be the friendly face of our business – the helpful driver who delivers the unique blend of Waitrose quality and outstanding service right to our customers’ doors. When you’re not out and about you’ll be at the store, assisting with things like stock control and cashiering, which may involve lifting heavy products. A good appreciation of health & safety is a must too, along with excellent driving skills – and we will ask you to take a driving assessment as part of your application.
Required Essential Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
You will need a full valid UK manual driving licence with no more than six points – and you should be 18 years old or over. Part of the application process will include a licence check and a security check to confirm your suitability for the role.
Required Desirable Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
Previous experience in a driving role and a knowledge of chilled vehicles would both be welcomed.
Additional Information:
As a Partner you will enjoy our unique benefits package, including staff discount, subsidised food in Partner dining rooms, discounts in local restaurants, subsidised learning, access to exclusive Partnership hotels and so much more.
Please consider the following when making your application:
1. We occasionally close vacancies early in the event we receive a high volume of applications. Therefore, we recommend you apply early.
2. Print off the job description now if you require it.

Important points to note:
It’s important to note that some of our roles are subject to pre-employment vetting. If required, you’ll find out more about vetting throughout the recruitment process and we encourage you to complete any vetting documents quickly to avoid delays.
We also recommend that you apply as soon as possible as vacancies can close early if we see a high number of applicants.
We want all of our Partners to have a good work-life balance and we support flexible working. This might mean flexible or compressed hours, job sharing or shorter hour contracts, where possible. Please discuss this further with the hiring manager during your interview.
