We are seeking to appoint a suitably skilled, motivated, and caring Full-time Recovery Support Worker to work with children and young people aged between 10 to 17 years.
Wakefield Local Authority and Wakefield CAMHS are working closely together to improve the therapeutic care and outcomes for these children and young people and have opened a bespoke Therapeutic Children and Young People service, hosted by the Wakefield Local Authority and supported by Wakefield CAMHS.
An excellent understanding of the needs of children in care, with a clear ambition to provide outstanding services for the children we look after, is required. We will provide you with excellent supervision, appraisal, ongoing training, and support in obtaining your management qualification awards.
Candidates will have significant experience of working in a relevant setting for children and young people, along with experience in preparing, implementing, and reviewing care plans for children. The successful candidate should have the ability to:
* Relate and communicate to a wide spectrum of people, including children and young people, their carers, and other professionals.
* Work in a therapeutic manner.
* Make appropriate decisions under pressure.
* Contribute to the support and supervision of staff.
* Demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills to maintain records and prepare reports.
* Assess needs and draw up and implement appropriate care plans in conjunction with partner agencies.
* Have high emotional resilience.
You will hold a NVQ3 / Diploma in Caring for Children and Young People, and a willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management within two years.
Effective supervision, induction, and good training are provided to all staff. The work involves shift patterns, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
