Highfield Community Pre-School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Manager to join our passionate and dedicated team. The Deputy Manager will work alongside the Manager to oversee all aspects of the pre-school, ensuring the highest quality of care and education for our young learners.
As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in our pre-school, helping to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for our children to learn and grow. You will assist the Manager in day-to-day operations and contribute to the development and implementation of our curriculum. The position is term time only. Salary based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Manager to ensure the smooth running of the pre-school on a daily basis.
- Provide support and guidance to the team of early years educators and support staff.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the pre-school's curriculum, ensuring that it meets all regulatory requirements and reflects the needs and interests of our children.
- Conduct regular observations and assessments of children's progress and use this information to plan activities and track their development.
- Be a role model for the team, demonstrating best practices in early childhood education.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives to continuously improve the quality of care and education we provide.
- Maintain accurate records, such as attendance, accident and incident reports, and staff records.
- Assist with the recruitment, training and development of staff members.
- Ensure a safe, clean and engaging learning environment is maintained at all times.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Level 3 early years qualification, with at least 2 years of experience working in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and safeguarding procedures.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proven experience in supporting and motivating a team of early years practitioners.
- Sound understanding of child development and the ability to plan and deliver stimulating and age-appropriate activities.
- A positive and nurturing approach to working with children and their families.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Knowledge of administrative and record-keeping procedures.
- First Aid and Food Hygiene training is desirable.
