We are seeking an experienced and skilled HIAB Driver to join our logistics team.
The HIAB Driver will be responsible for operating a truck with an integrated hydraulic crane to deliver and unload goods, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating HIAB cranes, possess a valid driver's license, and be committed to health and safety standards.
What your day will look like:
* Operate HIAB: Safely operate a lorry equipped with a HIAB crane to load, unload, and transport various types of goods, including building materials, machinery, and heavy items.
* Vehicle Safety & Maintenance: Ensure that the vehicle and equipment are maintained in good working order, reporting any issues or defects promptly. Perform daily checks on the vehicle and HIAB crane before starting work..
* Route Planning & Navigation: Plan routes and schedule deliveries effectively to meet deadlines while considering traffic conditions, road restrictions, and vehicle size limits.
* Load Securing: Ensure that all loads are secured properly and safely, following the relevant load-securing guidelines to prevent damage or accidents during transit.
* Compliance with Regulations: Adhere to all legal requirements, including driving regulations (tachograph), safety guidelines, and site-specific health and safety protocols.
* Documentation & Paperwork: Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes, delivery logs, and vehicle inspection forms. Ensure all documentation is signed by customers upon delivery.
* Customer Interaction: Provide a professional and courteous service when interacting with customers, drivers, and site staff, maintaining a positive company image.
* Site Health & Safety: Conduct site risk assessments to ensure the safety of yourself, your colleagues, and any members of the public. Follow safe practices when operating the crane and managing the delivery.
What we need from you:
* Valid HIAB Licence: Must hold a valid and current HIAB licence (CPCS or equivalent).
* Valid UK Driving Licence: Must have a full UK driving licence (C+E or C category). A clean driving record is preferred, with no major endorsements.
* Driver CPC Qualification: Must have a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), ensuring compliance with the driver hours regulations and ongoing professional development.

* Health & Safety Awareness: Good understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly in relation to heavy goods vehicles and crane operation.
