Are you on board?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Release Manager to join our Digital and Innovation team on a 12 month fixed term basis. Currently reporting into our Head of Digital Architecture, within this role you will be responsible for the transition of quality, compliant digital systems and services, primarily for the LNER retail eco-system but also all systems and release processes. In addition to this you'll provide the overall planning for service transition and coordinate the required resources working with the relevant stakeholders (e.g. Product Owners and Project Managers). You'll also support the Digital Delivery team to help provide a holistic view of all release activity from major projects to BAU activity as well as controlling the life cycle of all changes, enabling beneficial changes to be made with minimum disruption to IT and digital services.
In addition to this you'll also be involved in;
* Being the primary point of contact for LNER release management and service transition in Digital and Innovation.
* Contributing to the production of detailed transition plans with agreed milestones and interdependencies.
* Working closely with the Digital and Retail Test Managers to ensure the are kept up to date with Digital and Innovation deployment plans, ensuring that their test plans can support these and coordinate any changes required with them and other applicable stakeholders (both internal and external).
* Leading on the change management aspects, managing and ensuring full process is followed by all parties.
* Ensuring the change management process is as efficient as possible, including exploring a potential online automated service.
* Being responsible for the planning of changes across the digital eco-system suppliers.
* Being involved in incident management across the digital eco-system including liaison with RDG where necessary.
* Being involved in providing a root cause analysis/reporting for incidents arising to retail systems.
* Being responsible for keeping up to date all the various environment's versioning.
* Contributing to identifying innovation and improvement opportunities across the digital eco-system.
* Being Product owner for the LNER Jira system, understanding the best method for tracking retail issues and documentation, recommending alternatives to improve the service.
* Ensuring a knowledge base of documentation of the retail eco-system is held and is up to date.
* Ensuring a roadmap and timeline is up to date of upcoming changes to ensure alignment for resource in delivering transition.
What you'll need:
We're looking for an individual who has a sound technical knowledge of all the different IT technologies used to support the Digital Products, Decisioning and Innovation teams, as well as other business functions. You'll also have the following competencies and skills:
* Educated to degree level in an IT discipline or equivalent.
* Proven experience in release management, service transition or associated IT role.
* Relevant ITIL Certification.
* Understanding of change management processes in a fully change managed environment (ITIL).
* Technology experience specifically within knowledge, change and release management.
* Experience of resolving technical issues, including those involving third parties.
* Strong interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate and influence wide range of stakeholders.
* Experience in transitioning large scale projects covering multiple internal teams and vendors, from development into support.
* Strong people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members and other colleagues to meet deliverables and adhere to agreed processes and ways of working.
* Knowledge and familiarity with core business and rail-industry systems.
* Experience in technical policy formulation and direction.
