Job overview
The Strategy and Transformation directorate are looking for a dynamic, resilient person with either significant NHS Clinical Operational Management Experience or Clinical Manager Experience to join the team at University Hospitals Dorset.
The Directorate is responsible for the reconfiguration of clinical services and implementation of the Major Planned and Emergency Hospitals in East Dorset. This role is to provide the professional leadership support for Clinicians and Managers in this reconfiguration around clinical models/pathways, estate designs, hospital service requirements and associated pathway re-designs.
The post holder will work with Clinical, Managerial and Executive teams within the Medical Care Group to ensure the successful delivery of the reconfiguration. The successful post holder will work closely with the care group leadership team to ensure transformation plans are delivered and objectives are met. They will also be required to work closely with the other members of the team, including estates, project and programme managers to understand timelines and governance related to their work streams.
The post holder will fulfil a business partner role for the care group and will provide the clinical link between care groups and other aspects of the Strategy and Transformation team.
Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital (you will be required to work across site)

Person specification
Education
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Evidence of significant personal development through formal courses and/or experience
* Training in large scale change/quality improvement/effective resource management
* Prince 2 / MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) or equivalent
Experience
* Extensive NHS Clinical Operational experience as either a Directorate or Clinical Manager, covering multiple specialties
* Experience of working across boundaries, engaging and managing a broad range stakeholders
* Experience of leading clinical teams engaged in project activities and delegating plans and responsibilities to ensure delivery
* Experience of identifying required changes and managing clinical teams to deliver changes within an operational budget
* NHS acute provider experience
* Experience in managing projects involving large scale transformation and/or service redesign
Technical skills/competencies
* Ability to assimilate, interpret and analyse complex information and data to ensure effective reporting and progress of projects
* Ability to simplify complex issues and communicate challenging concepts to a variety of audiences in a memorable and engaging way
* Highly numerate and able to communicate and present articulately both verbally and in writing
* Proven ability in service development and redesign in providing high quality care and treatment to patients

* Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the clinical pathways across / within Acute setting
