Job summary The Phlebotomy service is a developing service, and we are changing the way we work to ensure we are providing a service with high clinical standards and provide greater accessibility to patients. The phlebotomy service is a hub and spoke model, with the main Inpatient and Outpatient Hub on the North Middlesex University Hospital Site. There are three main community Hubs located in communities of Enfield and Haringey, there is also provision for a domiciliary service. Working with the Outpatients Matron the post holder will promote and contribute to an agreed strategic direction for Phlebotomy that is in accordance with best practice and the needs of the Trust. The post holder will take line management responsibility for the Phlebotomy staff including the main reception help desk Main duties of the job To lead the phlebotomy services department team across all Trust sites and in doing so: Act as a role model, demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise, and leading, managing and delivering individual patient care. Proactively promote staff development ensuring its relevance to the practice area and individual needs. Facilitate a learning environment for staff and students allocated to the area.
