We are working exclusively with a established investment research firm who are looking to hire a Legal and Compliance Officer to join the growing business and act as sole Legal Counsel.
In this role, you'll be embedded in the business and play a crucial part in supporting the Compliance and Legal functions, reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). The successful candidate will be working autonomously and be considered as a 'go to' on a wide range of legal matters, such as drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts as well as advising on regulatory and other ad hoc legal issues, whilst supporting the compliance function.

Required days in the office is 3 days per week with Wednesday being a compulsory day for the whole business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Draft, review and manage core client contracts (UK/US) using established templates. Handle NDAs, negotiations, and third-party agreements.
* Assist the CCO with FCA and SEC regulatory matters. Update compliance policies and processes.
* Act as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (DMLRO) and manage AML procedures. Support Data Protection Officer (DPO) responsibilities.
* Work closely with the business and support on ad hoc legal matters which arise
Skills Required:
* Extensive experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and exposure to advising on compliance matters.
* Ideally, a UK (or equivalent) qualified lawyer* with experience gained in-house within the financial services sector.
* Knowledge of FCA/SEC regulations or willingness to learn.
* Ability to work independently and autonomously.
