Cpl is actively recruiting for a Senior Category Manager to join one of the leading independent suppliers to the construction industry across the UK and Ireland.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join this thriving business in a senior management position.
About the role
As Senior Category Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop and manage a key category within this business with full accountability for the end-to-end category proposition.
Focused around customer & commercial strategy, the successful candidate will find and work with the best suppliers at the best prices, whilst building and maintaining relationships with company branches, providing a service that they need in order to win and increase sales & profitability to drive sustainable growth.
(The successful applicant will be based within the areas of Newry, Lisburn or Belfast.)
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Support the team to deliver group strategies
2. Form strategic and collaborative relationships with our suppliers
3. Develop a buying strategy to help contribute to overall margin and profit growth
4. Liaise with Stock & Systems to ensure the availability of stock and goods at all times
5. Present agreed monthly performance reports to the Managing Director
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
1. Strong experience working within a similar position
2. A strong commercial mind and an instinct for a deal
3. Ability to lead with people management skills
4. Good communication and excellent negotiation skills - working with our suppliers, branches and sales teams
5. Analytical mind with strategic ability
6. Ability to manage multiple projects at any one time
