Plan and implement quality assurance audits on system, hardware, firmware and software development activities to assess compliance to defined company procedures, codes of practices and other guidance material. Perform independent objective reviews of the outputs of engineering work activities to assess compliance to defined company procedures, codes of practices and other guidance material. Be a member of the engineering change control board performing the quality approval for change requests. Resolve non-compliance issues effectively and at an appropriate level of the department or company. Provide feedback to engineering management and staff on the results of quality assurance activities. Liaise with, and host, external auditors. Ensure that quality records are correctly developed, maintained and archived by the Engineering projects and department. Take a key role in process improvement activities. Report directly to the delegated Chief Engineer on engineering quality issues in the project or departmental context. When necessary or appropriate, report directly to the Head of Programmes & Engineering on significant unresolved engineering quality issues. What You Bring Broad knowledge and experience across a wide range of engineering disciplines to enable effective communication with systems, hardware, firmware & software engineers and managers. Experience in a quality or design assurance based role ideally within an aerospace environment, or alternatively, knowledge and experience of RTCA DO-178B/C and/or DO-254 with a desire to move into a design assurance engineering role. Good level of education in a computer science, engineering or science discipline Experience or knowledge of Aerospace regularity guidance / standards e.g. AS9100, ARP4754A, (Aerospace safety and design assurance as integrated development process) RTCA DO-254, RTCA DO-178B/C. (Aerospace envt safety critical software (c2012)) Configuration Management and Product Lifecycle Management tool experience. Process definition / modelling (e.g. BPMN) experience. Ability to collaborate and make pragmatic decisions that ensure compliance and quality while considering cost, schedule and risk. Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
