About the Role
Due to the retirement of our current headteacher this summer, an exciting opportunity for a senior leadership post has arisen at Wellfield Infant and Nursery School. We are looking for a motivated, aspirational and dedicated individual to take on this rewarding role.
Wellfield Infant and Nursery School is a highly inclusive and nurturing school which offers our wonderful pupils a rich learning environment, both indoors and out. The successful candidate will have the privilege of leading a well-established, enthusiastic and skilled team.
Wellfield Infant and Nursery School is a two-form entry infant school with a small specialist class for children with SCD/ ASD and the nursery provides for up to 52 full time places. The school is highly regarded by the community it serves and it enjoys strong relationships with both parents and carers.
The school was judged Outstanding by Ofsted in March 2023 as well as in its previous inspection in February 2016.
You will:
be a headteacher, deputy headteacher or assistant head with a strong track record of effective leadership and school improvement;
have a deep understanding of child development and a sound working knowledge of both the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework and the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
have a wealth of experience of working with young children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), in particular children with SCD/ ASD;
have excellent communication skills and be equipped to lead the whole school community with commitment and enthusiasm;
be able to create a culture where pupils experience a positive and enriching school life;
uphold ambitious educational standards which prepare pupils from all backgrounds for their next phase of education and life;
have an uncompromising commitment to high expectations for all pupils, so that they can all achieve their full potential;
have the skills and passion to be able to establish and sustain the school’s vision and strategic direction, in partnership with those responsible for governance and through consultation with the school community;
promote positive and respectful relationships across the school community and a safe, orderly and inclusive environment;
have experience of building respectful working relationships with all staff, with care for their wellbeing;
have proven organisational skills and be able to manage your time and workload effectively
know how to effectively manage a limited budget, ensuring that all financial decisions align with the school’s priorities and financial management policies and procedures;
