Job summary Band 6Deputy Unit Manager - Day Surgery UnitPermanent post We are looking for a motivated enthusiastic individual who possess excellent care values and are able to deliver a high quality service within the surgical division of Day Surgery Unit. You must have a strong sense of team spirit and be able to offer continued development support and learning to an existing well developed team. You must be able to demonstrate excellent clinical leadership and organisational skills whilst working in a fast paced and challenging environment. You will be expected to plan, coordinate and work in partnership with an established MDT. Main duties of the job You will have a depth and breadth of both clinical and some managerial experience at a Band 5 or above and be looking for the next step within your Nurse Leadership Career. Your clinical knowledge base will run in parallel to your leadership acumen to deliver the role of the Deputy Unit Manager supported by the Unit Manager. In return, you will receive support from a proactive and enthusiastic leadership team and will be encouraged to pursue managerial development. Additionally, you will provide clinical expertise to the ward/department team, acting as a role model in the delivery of patient care and always act in a manner consistent with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, carrying out his/her duties in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
