Senior Outcomes Research Manager (2x positions)
Responsibilities
1. To design, produce, and disseminate robust relevant real-world data and epidemiological studies in order to drive innovative strategies and aid evidence-based decision making by national payers across the Prescription Medicine (PM) portfolio, and increase patient access.
2. Raise awareness of disease and/or product specific outcomes related to the Boehringer portfolio.
3. Lead the generation of publications of Outcomes Research studies to raise awareness of disease and/or product specific outcomes.
4. Facilitate the evidence base supporting HTA and the payer value proposition related to the Boehringer portfolio.
Accountabilities
1. Design and lead the production of successful OR and real-world data studies in order to facilitate HTA submissions and payer value propositions in the five nations.
2. Lead protocol development, secure internal protocol sign off, data analysis and the production of reports and manuscripts, in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders locally and globally (as appropriate).
3. Remain up to date on external developments regarding RWE methodologies accepted by Health Technology Assessment agencies (epidemiology/biostatistics and outcomes research) and related stakeholders in relevant therapeutic areas.
4. Foster the in-house development and training of BI Epidemiologists, and colleagues in other functions, providing guidance on RWE/OR studies.
5. Engage with external stakeholders to raise awareness of disease and/or product specific outcomes.
6. Disseminate results and interpretation of these studies within cross-functional teams, to facilitate HTAs and Patient Access objectives.
7. Produce real-world data to ensure that Health Technology Assessment submissions contain rigorous epidemiological evidence.
8. Provide quantitative OR and statistical expertise to Health Economists to support economic modelling and data analysis for HTA submissions and the development of payer value propositions.
9. Take a prominent role in cross-functional Franchise teams and be a recognised authority, ensuring that use of OR to support patient access is integral to brand strategy and tactics.
10. Lead OR input during the development, review, and refinement of UK/Ireland Integrated Asset Evidence Plans for BI products in collaboration with various internal stakeholders.
11. Contribute to the development of strategy across all Patient Access areas of expertise.
Required Education & Knowledge
1. Degree or equivalent qualification in mathematics, statistics, epidemiology, data science or related discipline.
2. Relevant post-graduate qualification, e.g., MSc/PhD in Epidemiology or related discipline.
3. In-depth knowledge of quantitative outcomes research methods, and medical statistics applied to RWE.
4. Proven knowledge in the management of epidemiological data and methods used to organise and analyse large sets of data.
5. Knowledge and experience of running epidemiological studies, from proposal writing to publication of results.
6. Knowledge of statistical methods applied to health economics would be advantageous.
7. Good understanding of CPRD (or equivalent anonymised patient-level database) and the UK health system would be advantageous.
8. Good understanding of SQL and R would be advantageous.
9. Able to check the code of the Outcomes Research Managers.
