Teacher of RMPS
Leith Academy
Salary: £33,594 - £50,589
Hours: 35 per week
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated RMPS teacher to join our innovative and supportive Social Subjects Faculty. We aim to develop an enthusiasm for learning by providing pupils with challenging and creative opportunities. Courses offered include S1-S4 core RMPS, this provides the opportunity for pupils to attain the Religion, Belief and Values Award in S3 and a unit in Morality and Belief in S4. Many pupils choose to further their RMPS experience and choose to take it to N4, N5 and Higher.

The curriculum rationale is to meet the needs of every young person so that when they leave school they have a portfolio of skills, experiences, qualifications. The post would suit an innovative and enthusiastic teacher, preferably with experience of teaching Higher RMPS. Digital literacy is a key element of learning and teaching at Leith Academy and the successful applicant ought to have an interest in embedding this further by providing a range of digital methodologies in the classroom.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
