Description Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Piping Designer with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry based in Aberdeen Contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through: Executing assigned scopes of work Supporting and supervising task delegation to team Providing discipline expertise to the business Coaching and mentoring as delegated Manage and supervise direct reports. Process Ownership: Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement Participate in audits and incident investigations as required Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development Provide discipline support to the business Responsibilities Provide Piping Design Expertise Provide input to piping and layout studies Define piping design requirements for technical scopes Development of deliverables and documentation required for use in offshore workpacks and in the supply chain Support the development of and/or develop requisitions for the procurement of piping related material and equipment Undertake design checking of piping deliverables Provide support to the Lead Piping Engineer and the project delivery team Provide piping design technical expertise to the project Resolve piping related design issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards Adhere to procedures to assure technical integrity of piping designs Provide support for interdiscipline considerations through attendance at required design reviews and undertaking inter discipline checking Maintain own knowledge and understanding to meet competence requirememts of Senior Piping Designer Provide feedback on lessons learnt to aide in continuous improvement Utilise software tools in design development and checking (eg PDMS, Navisworks, E3D) Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: BSc, BEng or equivalent professional qualification or HND or equivalent with extensive relevant experience Minimum Experience: Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at relevant level and position
