QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - 8.15am till 4.30pm
Our client is an industry leader of bespoke printed folded cartons for a wide range of market sectors. With state-of-the-art equipment and on-site design, they are able to respond quickly and efficiently to all their customers packaging requirements.
They are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their team to coordinate the Quality Assurance Programme and ensure compliance with Quality Assurance and pharmaceutical industry specific standards. You will need to ensure compliance to customer specifications and maintenance of the customer complaints system.

Key Responsibilities:
3 Direct Reports - Quality Assurance and Quality Coordinator Supervise the team, manage the resources and activities, and ensure the well-being of the direct reports Update all Business Systems related documentation (i.e. Quality Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures) to reflect changes in operating processes, introduction of new equipment etc Develop the Quality Assurance Programme to meet the objectives of the company, third party regulatory auditors and customers' quality representatives Prepare quality related information to enable presentation of reports including key performance indicators at meetings Plan and undertake internal and external audits to enable continuous improvement programmes to be established and developed, whilst maintaining quality compliance Liaise with Production Management to agree appropriate corrective action on quality issues, prepare appropriate action plans to ensure root cause of issues are addressed Record and investigate customer complaints and provide a response to the customer to agreed timescales Analyse complaints and audit information to identify trends, and where appropriate, present such information graphically Attend regular quality review meetings with Customers' QA staff and provide up-to-date analysis of their account Plan and provide induction and on-going quality awareness training to all staff including the supervision and development of the QA Co-Ordinators and Inspectors Maintain pest control and factory cleaning records Ensure that all test and measurement equipment is maintained and recorded in accordance with agreed service/calibration data Attend the daily Business Review Meeting and provide an accurate daily up-date relating to product quality and customer complaints Develop the technical and communication skills of the Quality Assurance Team to ensure that training needs are identified and appropriately met Provide advice to Production Shift Managers and Team Leaders on quality issues Provide support to Internal Sales staff on quality matters Visit customers to communicate and share corrective action plans for Quality issues Chair the internal Quality Review Panel and offer support to Managers to determine the most appropriate course of action in respect of employees who fail to follow the standard QA procedures Attendance at the monthly Management Team meetings and present the Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety reports, and to contribute to the setting and achieving of Company objectives Present recommendations with qualifications to the Managing Director on any operational developments that would enhance Quality Management Systems within the Company Ensure adherence at all times to the Company's Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures and maintain compliance to appropriate standardsRequirements:
PS9000 trained IOSH/NEBOSH training in Occupational Health and Safety (Desirable) NEBOSH or equivalent experience in Environmental Management (Desirable) Quality Assurance / HSE demonstrated experience HSE: 4 years (preferred) Proven experience in a QA management position Flexibility on working hours between 6am and 9pm with the main hours being as above but flexible if needed on the odd occasion Root cause and trend analysis including effective implementation of CAPAs Experienced accreditation management: PS9000, ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, BRC, FSC, PEFC and Sedex Ability to work well under pressure Excellent organisational and time management skills Good at problem solving with an eye for detail Leading, coaching and mentoring team members Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficient IT skills Mathematics and English GCSE level or equivalent Auditor training (Lead Assessor preferred) Ability to embrace cross-team collaboration Managing a team and supporting and developing direct reports Knowledge and experience of carton and leaflet manufacturing none essential Strong communication and motivational skills
