We are a metal fabricator who manufacturers and supplies perforated metals products for building and construction, based in Warrington, We are looking for a junior buyer to join our team.
You will previously have been actively involved in buying, building relationships with suppliers, you will have worked with a buying team or manager and understand that a lot of your role is speaking to suppliers and team and managing times lines, quantities, and prices
Building and maintaining supplier relationships is an important part of the role, this is something you will take to naturally and enjoy the daily communication.
The role is based in an office. We are an integral part of a bigger business. You will report daily and work alongside the senior buyer and together you will talk to suppliers, clients, nurture relationships, manage prices and deadlines
Your day to day role will involve:
* Build and maintaining positive, long-term relationships with Suppliers
* Research new suppliers and make recommendations to the Purchasing Manager.
* Obtain quotes for materials requested by the Sales department in line with Customer RFQ
* Evaluate quotes and negotiate prices and delivery with focus on achieving best price and quality.
* Raise Purchase Orders, Call Off orders and maintain in Oracle MRP / ERP system.
* Progressing of orders to ensure specified dates are met and the correct items and quantities are received.
* Updating and maintaining internal databases and ERP system with records of orders, deliveries, invoices, contracts & supplier approvals.
* Identify and maintain quality standard requirements and ensure all products meet the required standards (ISO 9001 & 14001).
* Communicating supply chain delays and risks with key stakeholders.
* Monitor Inventory - including stock take planning and participation.
* Support Production personnel with the efficient running of the production office.
* Generate intercompany purchase orders for raw material and consumables
* Responsible for all factory MRO's / factory & office consumables.
* Any other administration duties required by the manager
Is this you?
You will be customer focussed, articulate on the phone, organised and good with Word, Excell and access. Use of Oracle MRP/ERP beneficial. You will be commercially sound be driven and have aspirations for a role within buying

* Start Pay £12.21 PH
