Policy and Governance Manager
Permanent
Grade 6 - £49,498 - £61,269 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review.
Working 37.5 hours per week.
We are seeking a dynamic leader to deputise for the Head of Policy and Governance on complex, high-risk issues. The successful candidate will develop and implement a commercial governance framework, ensuring effective procurement and compliance. They will apply strategic project management tools and conduct research to support Council objectives and the procurement strategy. Additionally, they will contribute to business plans and strategies, focusing on supplier performance and meeting contractual obligations. The role requires ensuring best practices and innovation in procurement processes, fostering effective relationships with stakeholders to achieve savings, and upholding public accountability and professional ethics. The candidate will also identify opportunities to support and develop the local economy, stay informed on industry advancements, attend relevant events, and manage project standards and regulations for Birmingham City Council.
