Part Time Technician – 3 days per week flexible – hours

£16,504 - £19,877 per annum
An opportunity has arisen within the Estates Team for a keen and committed individual to support the council’s statutory Asset Valuation function as a technician.
You will be responsible for a variety of asset valuation and estates related administrative tasks including data quality control.
You will be joining a small team of eager and dedicated surveyors ensuring the estates assets are valued and reported on time to the council’s Finance Department by the end of each financial year.
What will I be doing for the Asset Valuation team:
Training will be provided for the following tasks:
1. Regular monitoring of the team’s valuation progress over the financial year, including the production of spreadsheets and graphs for the Senior Asset Valuers and Management.
2. Monitoring of the council’s Property Change Notifications and maintaining of the PCN spreadsheet.
3. Distribution of workload between surveyors based on their progress and home address.
4. Acting as a two way liaison between the Asset Valuers and the Data Team regarding all supplied data and inspection work.
5. Occasional photographic inspection work of the council’s land assets under instruction from the valuers.
6. Data quality assurance prior to submission of valuation spreadsheets to Finance.
There will also be an opportunity for career development within the general estates department helping other team members with a wide variety of estates related tasks.
What skills and experience do you need to have:
7. A basic to intermediate working knowledge of Excel is essential for the role and potential candidates will be asked to undertake a simple Excel spreadsheet test during the interview process in order to demonstrate their skill level to the interviewers.
8. Experience of using Intranet, Teams and council / company server filing systems.
9. Be enthusiastic, versatile and self-motivated with the ability to work well as part of a team.
10. Confidence to work under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously.
11. Excellent interpersonal skills with attention to detail whilst workingat speed.
12. Desirable - Familiarity / experience with mapping packages / maps, aerial photos, and various estates issues.
13. Successful candidates should have theability to travel for occasional outdoor work.
