A Domiciliary Care Worker provides essential support and care to individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, personal care, and ensuring their overall well-being. The Domiciliary Care Worker collaborates with healthcare professionals, families, and other carers to deliver personalised care plans tailored to each client's needs. Earn up to £12.40ph.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care: Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
2. Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications, monitor for side effects, and ensure clients adhere to their medication schedules.
3. Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve meals according to dietary requirements and preferences, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
4. Household Tasks: Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and shopping to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
5. Companionship: Provide emotional support, engage in conversation, and participate in activities to reduce feelings of isolation and improve mental well-being.
6. Mobility Assistance: Help clients with mobility issues, including transferring from bed to wheelchair, using mobility aids, and ensuring safe movement around the home.
7. Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in clients’ health or behavior to healthcare professionals and family members.
8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of care provided, medication administered, and any changes in the client’s condition.
9. Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, and follow company policies and procedures to ensure high standards of care.
Qualifications:
1. Experience: Previous experience in a care setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
2. Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; certification in healthcare or social care is advantageous.
