In this role, you will help build plans with our strategic brand partners like Canon and GoPro to attending trade shows to discover the newest technologies. You will have no day the same in this fast paced and exciting role. Working with product ranges from some of the world's biggest brands, this role will give you the autonomy to develop your buying career in one of our most wide-ranging categories. Key Responsibilities: Managing all category supplier relationships in line with our overall commercial supplier strategy and the category strategy Harness credible relationships with our suppliers and develop a sourcing strategy to both bring customers the best ranges, supported with availability but also to minimise our NET cost of goods Negotiating product ranges - cost pricing, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, stock availability Negotiating additional fixed and variable financial terms related to ranging, activity and performance - maximising EBIT across the category Securing adequate product and promotional differentiation from competitors to support market share growth objectives Ensure that the category is always striving for a market leading range Be aware of the market place activity and innovations. Using this information to ensure that the category is performing Working side by side with the merchandisers to ensure all metrics are hit across sales and stock Ensure supplier contracts are completed in line with the company DOA and pre-determined annual timetable Develop capable and committed colleagues who are fully aware of the company vision and the role they play in delivering it Manage, coach and develop direct reports to deliver category targets and to ensure compliance with the Commercial critical path and processes You will need: Experience at Buyer level with knowledge and experience of: Supplier negotiation, Supplier relationship management Good commercial awareness and appreciation of customer needs Good working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel Strong communication and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders Expert analytical and numerical skills Strong negotiation and influencing skills Ability to create and interpret sales and margin data to develop tactical and strategic commercial plans Commercial acumen and financial awareness We know our people are the secret to our success.
