At Big Ant Recruitment, we are working with our client, a growing accountancy practice that prides itself on providing a broad range of accounting and business support services. They are seeking an experienced VAT & Accounts Assistant with previous practice experience to join their friendly and supportive team. This role is ideal for someone with strong interpersonal skills who thrives in a close-knit, team-oriented environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Management of the bookkeeping list
2. Preparation of Ltd company accounts
3. Partnership accounts preparation
4. Sole trader accounts preparation
5. Self-assessment tax return preparation (including duplicate checks)
6. VAT return preparation using Xero
7. Delivering Xero training to clients
8. General administration duties
9. Dealing with client queries promptly and professionally
10. Working closely with Client Managers to ensure deadlines are met
11. Representing and promoting the firm at networking events
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Qualifications: AAT Level 3 or equivalent
2. Software Skills: Proficiency with Xero, QuickBooks, or Free Agent for VAT return preparation
3. Experience: Strong background in bookkeeping and accounts preparation
4. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a collaborative environment
6. Attention to Detail: Key focus on accuracy and thoroughness
