We have an exciting opportunity for a Public Art Officer to join our dynamic Arts team on a 2-year fixed-term contract, to support delivery of Wiltshire Council’s new Art and Design in the Public Realm Guidance.
As Public Art Officer you will report to the Arts and Funding Manager and be responsible for the development and delivery of public art in Wiltshire, ensuring that all projects comply with the ‘Art and Design in the Public Realm 2024’ guidance. Responsibilities will also include developing and implementing a programme of large-scale public art projects to support the place shaping agenda, mapping public art across the county, and delivering creative, high quality and significant works of public art in Wiltshire.
Our ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience in an Arts related discipline. Experience and knowledge of project management including contracts and financial management will be essential, as well as proven experience of facilitating and delivering major and small-scale public art projects. You should possess excellent communication skills, with proven ability to co-ordinate projects including cultivating artists and commissioning their work, proactively managing large budgets, and working to tight deadlines while delivering to a high standard.
