As Principal Mechanical Engineer your responsibilities will include: Responsibility for the delivery of legislative and corporate safety and engineering standards Champion and continuously improve all safety requirements, including the supervision of the technical support team and contractors, Includes the Permit to Work process, Risk assessments and method statements Lead and support the reduction of risk (Unified Risk Management (URM)) Management of capital projects from initial feasibility study to final close out ensuring KPI’s for safety, cost, time & specification are met. Lead root cause failure analysis and 4 step problem solving. Ensure actions are completed, closed out and shared with relevant parties. Coach, develop, build capability, and consciously Improve the way in which mill teams adhere to Mechanical mill processes and standards. Champion the planning, implementation and continuation of other company wide programmes (such as LEAN, OPEX, P2030 best practice) that are identified within the mill’s asset roadmap. Transfer in depth technical knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems, eg Pumps, Motors, Gearboxes, Transmission Systems, Steam Generation and Lifting equipment Application and use of CBM methodologies to drive equipment reliability. Manage work prioritisation based on asset criticality assessments This role will provide technical leadership to the mechanical engineering resources, as part of our commitment to world-class engineering and technology, we’re building on our current mechanical capability. Lending your expertise in all kinds of ways, you’ll help us achieve our ambitions across our production line operations. Reporting to a Mill Operations Manager, you’ll ensure assets are operating to their optimum efficiency to maximise output and ensure targets are consistently met. Your knowledge and expertise will be Integral to supporting the delivery of the mill’s improvement strategy, the holder of this role will also be required to effectively build capability in One KC Manufacturing practices in a way that meets all Kimberly Clark’s standards and processes. You will work a day shift, with the flexibility to support emergency call outs when required. Your focus will be to optimise and sustain tissue manufacturing assets, minimise machine downtime, and make cost-saving improvements. You’ll also be responsible for implementing new engineering systems and solutions, optimising maintenance strategies and managing obsolescence programmes. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications: Minimum BEng Mechanical engineering or equivalent tertiary education or experience Preferably experienced within a manufacturing, packaging or FMCG environment. Knowledge of SAP computerised maintenance systems and processes.
