They are looking for a Senior Sourcing Manager to join the team on an initial 12 month contract with the potential to extend. You will be working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with occasional out of hours to meet deadlines, the role is hybrid working being office based 2 days a week, 3 days working from home.
About the role:
Lead and direct a category led strategic sourcing function and create optimal sourcing strategies and value across marketing categories/sub category expenditure, using the size and scale of the organisations purchasing power and effective supplier relationships to deliver competitive advantage to the business in line with strategic and operational objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
* Contribute to the strategic direction of the business through either development and execution of the category and sub-category strategies or developing/implementing the strategic relationship management framework to minimise total cost of ownership and reflecting market conditions.
* Work with teams across Group Sourcing and Divisional Leads to develop a commercially led sourcing strategy which maximises the organisations buying power, tests current approach and drives innovative thinking to optimise market offerings.
* Promote the organisations Sourcing process and models to gain advocacy with all key Executive stakeholders, creating tangible best in class sourcing and SPRM practices and delivery.
* Develop and ensure the implementation of medium-term operational plans specific to supported/own area and taking into account the wider business, governance and regulatory context.
* Proactively build, develop and maintain external and internal network and relationships to provide appropriate professional advice to achieve the organisations objectives.
* Lead sharing of best practice and use external benchmarking data to further improve performance and to identify service and product opportunities utilising eSCM to measure against key supplier management capabilities.
* Lead, motivate and coach team members to achieve a combined performance which meets the current and future needs of the business.
* Embed the organisations culture and vision through visible leadership.
* Lead and manage self and own team in the context of relevant risk policies and frameworks.
* Identify opportunities for and champion change to deliver continuous improvement.
Skills and Background
* Experience of working in a similar role, particularly covering marketing sourcing.
* Working knowledge of SAP Ariba.
* Strong communication skills.
* Able to negotiate and influence others.
* Experience of supporting and mentoring peers.
* Project experience.
* Good attention to detail, able to prioritise and adapt.
* Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply qualification an advantage.
* Previous experience of working within a finance setting would be an advantage.
