Behind the scenes we are at the cutting edge of Warehousing, Logistics and eCommerce and have recently expanded our South Elmsall site to include a brand new, state of the art distribution centre, E3. The phased opening of E3 is well underway and we are now looking for practical, talented individuals to join our Maintenance team as Assistant Engineers. Our Maintenance Teams play a pivotal role in ensuring that the huge range of warehouse machinery and equipment are maintained and repaired as required to ensure the operation runs smoothly, implementing management instruction with regard to all aspects of the role and ensuring awareness of Health and Safety, working in a specialist field. About the job The role of the Assistant Engineer will aid in the smooth and efficient running of the warehouse and will support the Maintenance Engineers in their daily tasks. Assistant Engineers will follow H&S procedures and Safe Systems of Work whilst maintaining a high work standard. Some key duties and responsibilities involve: Attending breakdowns and being able to remedy basic faults, replacing common parts as necessary Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance on site Perform weekly and monthly maintenance checks including sprinkler tests, emergency lighting etc. Identify when to escalate recurring issues and report breakdowns to an Engineer Ensure equipment, maintenance stores and workshops are kept clean and tidy This role encompasses a variety of maintenance work which will also see you working at height to complete maintenance tasks and checks. The successful candidate will also assist in risk assessments, inspections and investigations to implement appropriate preventative action. About you We are looking for: Practical, passionate individuals who have a keen eye for detail and accuracy in all aspects of their work Proven ability to communicate efficiently and effectively Positive, can-do attitude whilst using own initiative Previous exposure to using hand tools and automation The ability to manage and prioritise workloads Educated to a minimum of GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths Prior experience in a similar role would be an advantage. Within this role you will be required to undertake a basic Electrical and Mechanical classroom based academic training programme provided by an external training body to equip you with a greater knowledge of maintenance within automation.
