Then come and join Taylor & Francis Group - a leading academic publisher - within our Books Production Editorial department, where we are recruiting for a Production Editor to project manage books production across the Routledge and Taylor & Francis imprints!
As a Production Editor, you will oversee the production of new titles from receipt of the author’s un-copyedited typescript through to delivery of the final product, ensuring new books meet our quality requirements.
The key responsibilities of the Production Editor are:
* Commissioning suppliers, preparing material for suppliers, managing relationships with, and feeding back to, suppliers
* Handling incoming queries from authors and editors
* Maintaining up-to-date information on our database
* Quality control of final content
* Controlling budgets, and assessing and coding invoices for prompt supplier payment
* Completing multiple tasks to deadlines within a process driven environment
Please note that full training will be provided.
In order to be successful in this role you will:
* be accustomed to prioritising and working to deadlines, be organised, and be able to multi-task
* have excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify errors
* understand the importance of maintaining information relied on by others, ideally through experience of using a database
* be able to manage expectations so that we deliver to everyone's satisfaction
* have the ability to problem-solve
* be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
* have the ability to build rapport with people and offer first class customer service as well as be very process-driven
* adapt well to change and not be daunted by changing priorities
* have basic skills in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Reader
* ideally have experience of working within budgets (but this is not essential)
* ideally have a basic understanding of the publishing process from typescript submission to final content (but this is not essential)

Additional Information:
This role is offered as a maternity cover contract. The expected contract length is 12 months and is due to commence on 27th January 2025.
Location: We offer a truly balanced working model with the successful candidate using our Milton Park (Oxfordshire) location as their office hub with the rest of the time working from home.
