Business Analyst| 5 Month Contract | (Inside IR35) | Hybrid (Edinburgh, 1-2 day pw onsite) | Starting ASAP Day Rate: DOE Job Description: Projects and work packages deliver a measurable benefit to the client; Focus of projects remains on the resolution of the business challenge/need delivered through enhancement and changes to key enablers including business processes, systems, data, and staff training; Business process reviews are undertaken in a consultative manner with colleagues across the client, academic and professional services, and process reviews, process analysis and re-design is undertaken to a high level and in a consultative manner; Focus on the activity that is required to embed the change and benefits that projects are seeking to deliver and working with colleagues to ensure this is delivered as part of any project plan; Implementation plans are worked through, and handover to business as usual is clearly documented and appropriate training, communication and engagement takes place throughout the lifecycle of the work, helping to ensure most effective outcome for changes being undertaken; Develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in Schools, Colleges and other Support Groups: Close working relationship with colleagues across professional services. This includes HR, Finance, IS Group, Student Systems Partnership (team of business analysts, testers and developers working with colleagues in IS Group) and Student Systems Operations (responsibilities include live support to users, staff training, and student data); Close working relationship with project team(s) which include colleagues from professional services and Information Services Group but crucially the users of business process in Schools, Colleges and other Support Groups; Where appropriate close working relationships with a range of senior colleagues who will act as Project Sponsors and Board Members; Maintain and help develop close working relationships across Business Analysts within Service Excellence but also where possible in other areas of the business, helping to build and share network of practice in this area; Identify and enable opportunities for continuous development and improvement of the overall service by providing support, when required, to live business issues as well as contributing ideas and expertise to other change activities; Proactively contribute to and support the wider leadership team within the Service Excellence Essential Skills & Experience: HEI background with some core business systems experience (learning & teaching tools or student record, less so Estates or Research), or IT project background with implementation / transitions or transformations experience on a large scale / complex project with multiple stakeholders Activities will include - Assisting with Target Operating Model definition; process and systems mapping, experience with IBM BlueWorks would be ideal Business Requirements elicitation & refinement, contributing to the Requirements Catalogue and working with teams of stakeholders to determine Business and Service level impact. Supporting workshops and stakeholder engagement activities with a view to analysing outputs and establishing Programme impacts This role has been deemed Inside IR35 by the client.
