An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Manager to join our Financial Management team here at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare, one of the largest Foundation Trusts in the UK, specialising in mental health, adult and child community health and learning disabilities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This is a high profile post integral to the success of the organisation. The post holder is expected to work at a high level in the organisation demonstrating credibility with the Divisional Directors, Senior Management Team and where relevant, Clinicians, at all levels
The Financial Management team is responsible for delivering accurate and easy to understand financial information and providing quality financial advice, working alongside the Divisions to make the best decisions for the Trust and patients. The post holder will be responsible for various aspects of management accounting and financial planning for one of our Clinical divisions or Estates division, including leading a small team, undertaking the month end close down and reporting cycle, budgeting and forecasting and meeting with budget managers to review financial performance and provide financial advice and guidance
Main duties of the job
Provide expert, specialist and in-depth business and financial management information and advice to a Clinical Division, Estates and Facilities Management or Corporate Services. Lead the reporting of income, expenditure and other KPI's in line with required timescales for the achievement of financial and operational plans.
Produce standard and ad hoc reports and analysis for presentation to Divisional management. Ensure reports are accurate, consistent and timely and highlight risks and opportunities.
Work with Service Managers and Budget Holders to establish and achieve annual budgets.
Support the development of financial KPI's for the services, using data analysis together with internal and external benchmarking to influence service improvement.
Manage the production of information for use by Divisional Management to aid both short and long-term decision making, incorporating best practice from the private sector, NHS Institute for Innovation & Improvement and NHS Improvement.
The post holder will need to be credible, articulate, and comfortable working with all levels up to and including members of the executive team at the Trust. They will need to provide expert support and advice within their area of responsibility and provide challenge when appropriate. The post holder will need to provide cross-cutting analysis, interpreting both financial and non-financial information effectively.
