Job Title: Paediatric Registered Nurse
Trust Location: Dudley
Pay Rates: £17.01 - £28.00 excl holiday pay
Shift Patterns: Earlies, Lates, Long days, Weekends and Bank Holidays
As a Paediatric Nurse, you're not just taking care of a baby, child or teenager. More than in any other nursing role, you're nurturing the needs of a family.
The paediatric and neonatal clinical unit consists of three separate areas:
1. Neonatal unit
2. Paediatric ward
3. Paediatric outpatients
The paediatric units provide warm and welcoming environments that will give you the space and facilities to provide exceptional, child-centred care. Our young persons' room and outdoor play area further enhance opportunities for valuable informal interactions.
Whatever your motivations, if you have a passion for Paediatrics and would like to join a friendly and supportive team at the heart of the local area, we'd love to hear from you.
You will learn the following:
1. Adapting the way you care for children compared with adults based on their developmental stage, their age and health condition.
2. Communicating with children, learning how to interpret a child's behaviour and actions as they cannot express their feelings like adult patients.
3. Individualised planning for each child.
You'll receive the following benefits:
1. Exclusive access to first choice of shifts or placements at your Trust-before they are made available to agency.
2. Wellbeing incentives - take advantage of the wellbeing hub.
3. Competitive pay rates - work this week, get paid next week.
4. Manage your shifts and timesheets on the go - access your "My Bank" shift portal anywhere, anytime online or through your smartphone.
5. Essential support when you need it - 24/7 365 days - Call us anytime.
6. Multi-locational - work across neighbouring Trusts if you wish to.
7. Varied working options to suit your lifestyle - access to the Bank gives you options of ad hoc shifts or fixed term placements.
8. Training and development opportunities.
9. Build holiday allowance for every shift you work.
10. Stakeholder pension scheme available.
What you'll be responsible for:
1. Assessing and monitoring patient conditions.
2. Checking symptoms and vital signs and arranging diagnostic tests.
3. Recognising, responding to, and managing emergency situations.
4. Plan, deliver and evaluate standards of evidence-based nursing care.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You'll need to have the following qualification/experience:
1. A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute Paediatric hospital environment within the last 3 years.
2. Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices.
3. Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines.
4. Undertake regular mandatory training.
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
