For the area of Manufacturing located in Grimsby, UK, we invite Chemical or Process Engineering experts to submit applications for the role of Manufacturing Specialist - Offsites & Polymer
Main tasks & key accountabilities
The Manufacturing Specialist’s role will be to achieve consistency of operational performance, equipment availability, working practices, housekeeping and communcation; and to ensure risk assessments, safe working practices and competency tests are kept up to date.
* You will provide technical and practical process support, including equipment availability, readiness and maintenance; problem solving; troubleshooting, and employee welfare
* You will review and control relevant Risk Assessments (RA), Standard Working Procedures (SWP), and Competence Assessments, ensuring currency, relevance, standardisation and the incorporation of best practices
* You will act as area authorised person for control of work and permit author, where required
* You will provide training and competency assessment of production personnel in their area
* You will review short- to mid-term production data, statistics and quality reports to plan and modify manufacturing activities; and maintain the vulnerability and opportunity lists for your assigned area
* You will investigate internal quality deviations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are in place to prevent or minimise the risk of reoccurrence
Your ideal profile
* At minimum, you hold an HNC in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering, or equivalent. A relevant degree / HND would be an advantage
* You have knowledge of chemical / manufacturing processes and troubleshooting techniques
* You are able to intuitively understand process engineering and chemical engineering concepts, and apply them effectively
* You have experience of process engineering / operation; and up-to-date knowledge of relevant best practice and improvement methods
* You have a good understanding of manufacturing control systems such as SCADA
* You are able to communicate effectively, and provide clear feedback
