Principal Arboricultural Consultant

Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Arboricultural Consultant to lead our growing Arboricultural team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for fostering the growth of the team, overseeing complex projects whilst driving business growth in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a technical expert in your field you will deliver high-quality work and will support and guide your team. You will represent Thomson externally, building relationships with prospective and existing clients, and will be responsible for the financial performance of your team.
Salary up to £50,000 per annum.
Requirements
This role requires a combination of high skill and technical expertise alongside leadership and work-winning acumen. Key requirements for this role include:
* Significant experience providing high-quality arboriculture consultancy services in line with best practice and relevant British Standards.
* Experience with winning new work, gaining and maintaining strong client relationships and driving business growth. Experience assisting with the preparation of bids and tenders would be advantageous.
* Proven record of being able to manage and oversee project delivery.
* Being able to lead and motivate your team, acting as a role model at all times to ensure your team are aligned with Thomson's vision.
* Ability to undertake technically complex work and competently review and approve deliverables produced by the rest of the team.
* Experience of managing and delivering a team budget. Ability to assess and set appropriate goals for the team's growth and development, providing guidance and support to help them meet their targets and deliverables whilst assigning and delegating responsibilities and monitoring progress.
* You must have a full, clean UK driving licence and ownership/use of a car (with business insurance).
At Thomson, we support hybrid working arrangements; employees can work a mix of remote and office working. We have office locations in Guildford, Birmingham (Kenilworth), Leeds, Cardiff, Manchester and Ipswich.
