DG Corporate provides a range of services to core SG directorates, public bodies, public inquiries and review bodies. The Corporate Hub is a relatively new function within the Corporate Transformation Directorate which will evolve into the future delivery management platform for corporate services provided by DG Corporate. The Hub is led by a Deputy Director and this post will sit in the Platform Management Team, reporting to the Head of Platform Management. The training team within Platform Management is responsible for the design and delivery of training across multiple channels, initially focussing on the Oracle Cloud Platform which went live in October 2024. The expectation is that the team’s responsibilities will expand to include other technology solutions being implemented within the directorate. There is an expectation that all team members will contribute to shaping the service as it continues to develop, bringing fresh ideas and a willingness to adopt new ways of working as duties and responsibilities of the role evolve. Responsibilities The Training Lead will deliver a pivotal role in the Corporate Hub, liaising with stakeholders to identify training needs, shape how we plan, prepare and deliver training and learning interventions, both current and future. Define and execute the training strategy for technology solutions managed by the Corporate Hub, initially focussing on Oracle Cloud, identifying opportunities to enhance user experience with appropriate training in line with Government Shared Services global design principles including an effective approach to design, standardisation, and common process variations. Provide leadership and oversight on all Training and Learning service catalogue deliverables of the Corporate Hub. Evaluate and refine the eLearning catalogue through continuous improvement cycle, backlog management and alignment to quarterly updates. Build and lead the Training team adjusting resource levels to meet demand supplementing resources with organisations within the Scottish Government, user departments and 3rd Party Suppliers. Define and manage the governance framework of the training, with overall accountability for Plans, Checkpoints, Risk and Issue Management, and Change Control. Review training materials produced by third parties to determine appropriateness and relevance. Manage the continuous improvement and appropriate modification of training materials to meet specific training needs set out in the Training Strategy. Facilitate appropriate in-person and online training sessions that support programme and live service delivery. Work with subject matter experts to address learning issues, instruction amendments, or new educational needs. Develop and manage the training budgets for all programmes, productions, and publications. Maintain up to date knowledge of training best practices, trends and developments. Experience Experienced in developing, leading, delivering and evaluating a range of Training & Learning interventions, to support an organisation undergoing change (within SG / Public Sector). An effective leader with a strong track record in working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders to provide evidenced options, giving advice and challenge to ensure successful delivery of key business objectives. Experience of Oracle Fusion and Oracle Guided Learning.
