Fabric Maintenance Engineer - Plumber
Location: Birmingham - Site Based
Core Hours: 06:00am - 15:00pm & 11:00am - 20:00pm - Shift pattern on rotation.
The Role
Mechanically biased trades person based on site within a team of operatives undertaking planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment, and building fabric within a retail property environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. To carry out planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the Contract Manager. Including, but not limited to water hygiene and plant inspections; plumbing, filter changes, and other mechanical duties in support of the rest of the team. Duties will also include carrying out various non specialist electrical and building fabric maintenance tasks.
2. To close / update completed PPM tasks on the site computerised maintenance system.
3. Ensure engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise the operation effectiveness and reliability of the plant and associated systems.
4. To assist specialist subcontractors requirements both for PPM and reactive works.
5. To ensure company QA and site procedures are adhered to in all aspects.
6. Ensure Company & Site, Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times.
7. Maintain accurate site records/documentation in association with all site works.
8. To inspect the condition of services and proactively deal with call-outs/repairs as required, and requested by management
9. Attend site emergencies, outside of normal working hours.
10. Carry out tasks within typical plantroom environments and at high level, working from platforms and ladders. All access and PPE will be provided
11. Keep and maintain all company issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner.
12. To proactively work towards the continued success and support of the contract with a positive approach.
13. Comply with Integral’s Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, as detailed in the site plans.
14. Complete any other associated task requested by the management.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills
16. City & Guilds - Building Services Engineering or Plumbing Installation/Maintenance or equivalent experience
17. BPEC Unvented systems
18. A demonstrable knowledge of building services engineering
19. Minimum 5 years practical experience within the building services engineering industry
20. Previous experience of working within a team
21. Customer Service
22. Logical thinker in fault finding situations
23. Excellent interpersonal skills
24. Good written and verbal communication skills
25. Comfortable working within a team environment. Able to contribute to group success whilst willingly following instructions of others.
26. Able to work unsupervised
27. Self motivated
28. Adaptable and flexible approach to work requirements, willing to accept change.

30. Clean driving license
31. Resides geographically near to site and available for call out
32. Compliant to company and site personnel policies
33. The successful candidate will be required to adopt a flexible approach to working hours to suit the needs of the retail sector. This will require work at weekends and in the evenings, the salary has been set to reflect this.
