St Mary the Virgin CW Primary School is a dynamic and forward-thinking school committed to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for our pupils and staff. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Estate Manager to join our team to ensure that our school’s buildings, grounds, and facilities are managed efficiently and to the highest standards.
The post is 30 hours for 52 weeks per year, with 27 days paid leave plus bank holidays. There is a requirement to work a split shift (currently 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. but may be negotiated), and occasionally there may be the need for out of hours or additional time. Annual leave must be taken during school closure periods (school holidays).
As part of your role you will act as the first point of contact for all building and site matters.
The successful candidate will:
• Be an important member of the school team and demonstrate a positive and committed approach to the role;
• Be responsible for managing the maintenance of the school buildings and site;
• Be practical, hardworking, flexible and able to use their own initiative;
• Have a range of maintenance and DIY knowledge, experience and skills;
• Have the personal skills to make positive relationships with adults and children;
• Be able manage and supervise all contractors and suppliers professionally;
• Play a key role in ensuring the Health and Safety of our school community;
• Support the school in its ambition to remain an eco-friendly school;
• Be able to use internet and basic IT packages;
• Be aware of their role in the children’s learning;
• Be committed to supporting the school’s Core Values.
