Hatched Talent Solutions has partnered with a leading engineering firm based in the Midlands to hire several Mechanical Pipefitters/Welders, UK wide on a permanent basis.
Our partners specialize in comprehensive pipework and equipment solutions for liquid, pneumatic, and gas systems. The team operates out of a cutting-edge 10,000 sqft in-house engineering facility, delivering turnkey packages with a focus on quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
The company is dedicated to environmental stewardship, recognizing the importance of reducing its environmental impact through collaboration among employees, customers, and supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities:
1. NDT Inspection Preparation: Prepare vessels and equipment for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections.
2. Mechanical Support: Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance for mechanical issues, including breakdowns.
3. Maintenance Program Support: Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of maintenance programs and procedures across the site.
4. Inventory Management: Assist in managing and coordinating spare parts to optimize stock levels related to pipefitting and welding operations.
5. Workplace Safety Compliance: Rigorously adhere to safe work systems and maintenance protocols.
6. Housekeeping: Ensure a clean and organized work environment in all assigned areas.
7. Safety Reporting: Promptly report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
8. Team Leadership: Offer mentorship, guidance, and training to junior team members.
Required Experience:
1. Pipefitting/Welding Expertise: A minimum of three years of experience in pipe fitting, welding, or fabrication, focusing on hygienic stainless steel dairy tube welding, especially within the brewing industry.
2. TIG Welding Proficiency: Expertise in TIG welding, with the ability to work on thin-wall stainless steel dairy tubes and SS schedule tubing.
3. Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting pipework schematics and engineering drawings.
4. Specialized Training: Confined space certification and MEWP/FLT experience are advantageous.
5. Welding Qualifications: Ideally certified to BS EN ISO 9606-1:2017, with experience in various welding processes, including arc and TIG welding.
6. Weld Inspection: Skilled in conducting visual weld inspections according to ISO 17637.
7. Mechanical Fitting: Mechanical fitting experience is a plus.

Working Hours:
1. Flexibility: Willingness to travel and work on sites across the UK, with potential future assignments in Europe. Ability to stay on-site for up to 5 days at a time, including occasional weekends.
